ATC has long-standing ties with University College London, and ATC owner, Mark Aston, is an External Associate of the Optical Science Laboratory and an Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Physics & Astronomy.

This partnership allows the design and development of large instrumentation for large ground based instrumentation.

Mark was involved in introducing the formal project management environment at OSL that enables instruments such as the High Resolution Optical Spectrograph (HROS) to be designed and built.

The unique experience of producing high-value, research quality instrumentation using commercial management procedures again reinforces ATC's ability to ensure that unique projects are implemented within budget and to time.
